I would like to extend my thanks to all who provided suggestions
re my speedo problem.  The correct solution was the inner cable
had migrated up the outer cable to the extent that too much of
it was in the head.  Disconnecting the cable at the gearbox end
and pushing the inner cable from the speedo end restored the
preferred lengths.  I beleive Mike Passaretti (sp?) had the right
solution.
