You may yet get a clue. :-) Owning these cars requires non-linear people...

We have four cars. The two that work are the 1963 Volvo 122S and
the 1971 M.G. MGB. The 280ZX has suffered a major electrical system
failure (the very failure, in fact, that prompted me to devise this
quiz) and is at home waiting for a little more time to troubleshoot it.
The other car was a mistake, acquired to provide a hot-rod motor
for the 122S (hey, an additional 30 bhp by dropping it in sounded good
at the time); the pulley snapped off the water pump and sent the
fan into the radiator, and I haven't had the time either to yank the
motor and refurbish it for the 122 or get the cooling system repaired
so I can use and/or sell this car.

I have, as a matter of fact, fixed the wiring on the 122S with a chewing-
gum wrapper. The only time it quit on Kim, I came to her rescue (in
the M.G., of course) and identified the problem instantly as a loose
fuel line on the SU carbs; poked it back on and drove home. So in
this case, a 31-year-old Volvo is a lot like an M.G., in that when something
does go wrong, it's obvious what it is and how to fix it. Other than that,
we just drive them and enjoy them.

Oh, and by the way, if anyone in the Bay Area wants a great deal on
a 1982 Datsun 280ZX, drop me a line. Low miles, straight, clean,
several new batteries... $50 this week or $3500 after I get it started. :-)
