My 78 MGB is alive once again. After posting several messages about having
no spark at my coil, I received numerous sugestions on what the problem
might have been. I removed the after-market Mallory distributor and
replaced the duel points (set gap on the new ones at 16/1000), and also
replaced the condensor. ( anyone know the proper gap setting for this
distributor?) After putting the distributor back into the car (180 degrees
backwards at first). The car starts! Of course now the car is smoking,
running rough, and making a loud squelling sound (probably from the new
clutch assembly that I had to install), but at least its alive again.
Thanks for everyone's help, I'm not sure what the problem was, but I think
it was a bad condensor.
