Someone asks about setting valves with as little cranking as possible.
It's the Rule of Nine for a four cylinder, the Rule of THirteen for a
Six. 

For example on a 4 cylinder is #1 is open (the spring fully compressed) 
then you set #8.  If #4 is open set #5. Get it? It adds up to nine.

For a six you want it to add up to thirteen. Whatever you have to add to
the number value of the open valve to get 13 is the valve you adjust.
