RE: chrome thingy

Thanks to all that offered advice putting the windshield
chrome thingy in my 1980 spitfire. It seems the closest
thing to success has been soaping the rubber seal around the
windscreen and sliding the thingy in gently. It works mostly
but the ends on the edge of the windscreen refuse to sit
in its groove. It's holding for now but I know I'll have to take
the dadgum! windscreen out to do this properly.
