Dear Cousin Kermit,
Just a quick note to say how nice it was to see you over the weekend,
and to hear you provided Ray and Shirley with an enjoyable drive from
Burlington to Manchester. This was my fourth trip to the Hildene Car
Show and Mt. Equinox Hillclimb; it's a wonderful weekend! We old
cars like the opportunity to be washed and polished so thoroughly and
then to line up with hundreds of lovely and elegant auto relatives.
I liked parking next to another Abingdon alumnus at the motel -
and the restaurant Saturday evening. It isn't often that anyone but
George drives me, but it was fun to exchange drivers for a few minutes
on Sunday. I noticed that Ray respects our age and drives in a patient
and appreciative manner. You must like that.
I must say your lime green paint is the *perfect* colour for a Frogeye!
Ray was certainly bold to select that colour for you. Too many of our
family have become red (far too flashy and common for my taste!)
Hoping your trip homeward was equally pleasant for all of you,
I remain,
Respectfully,
(Your Older Cousin) Earle
(1956 MGA, Dove Grey, live axle, soft top, Overdrive)
PS: I only delivered 22 mpg on the 600-mile trip, even at reasonable
speeds. I should be getting closer to 30 mpg! George will have to check
my SU's for adjustments and leaks....
