carbs are either alum or zinc die castings. Anodize is usually used on alum that is NOT diecast. Die cast alum has a higher silicone content and tends, as a result, to uneven discoloration when anodized. Zinc can not be anodized at all. Zinc lends itself to chrome plating. Chrome plating die cast alum is not as easy. /dick |
