This sounds very similar to a problem I had. It took at long time to trace 
and solve (by trial and error in the end). My problem was the coil. It was 
not dead but the spark it was giving at the plugs was not sufficient for the 
injection engine. Replacing the plugs etc. masked the problem for a short 
while but it always came back. Worth a try not too expensive and easy to do.
