Yes....Corgi cars...

I was more of a 'Matchbox' man myself as a boy (another brand of small toy
cars). The quality of the smaller ones (3 inches long, scale?) is now not
so good. Theres too much plastic on 'em.  My step father used to be a manager
at one of the die-cast factories where they made the Matchbox stuff, so
I gt lotsa freebies...but then they shifted the operation to Taiwan :)

The larger models (6 or so inches long) are a bit nicer, and this is
perhaps what you are looking for? They run about, what? 15 pounds sterling?
I dunno. There are quite a few minature car specialist shops selling this 
stuff...usually al;ong with railway sets etc etc. Your best bet for
a supplier is to see if one of the brits who are still in Britain
will look in their yellow pages for a local toy shop and give you the number.
