While stopped at a light on the way to work this am I spotted a green
2+2 E-Type parked on the opposite shoulder, hood tipped and stream
coming from most everywhere. The driver, dressed more for white collar
work rather than ministering to his Jag, was poking around the engine
compartment. From the amount of steam I'd guess a coolant hose had
broken. If it hadn't been for the center median and the heavy traffic
I'd have hung a U and offered assistance. I always keep a roll of duct
tape in the Ch__y. Apparently it wasn't too serious because the driver
pushed the hood back down, got in and drove off, steam still pouring
from every louver and crack.
I'm pretty sure this is the same car I saw in a driveway not too far
from my house about 6 months ago. At the time it had a for sale sign in
the window and I wrote down all the pertinent info, planning to post it
to the list. When I got home I discovered that I'd missed writing one
of the phone number digits. By the time I got back for another look,
the car was gone. I couldn't tell whether or not it was still for sale
since the sign I'd seen earlier had been on the side away from my view.
Aside from the steam, the car appeared to be in very nice shape.
