Roger,
About a year ago I saw a short article in BRITISH CAR magazine (I think)
about the Feds holding up (or perhaps prohibiting) a shipment of winged
knock-offs to Moss. I'd been hearing rumors about this too prior to
seeing the article. This was the reason I rush off an order for new
knock-offs for my snake a couple of years ago. As far as I could tell
at the time British Wire Wheel, where I bought mine, wasn't concerned
about this. Actually I think BWW had the AC knock-offs made up
especially and may have been happy to unload a set.
My guess is that suppliers can sell off whatever they currently have in
stock. Don't know what happens after that, but I suspect the day will
come when they are no longer available new. For now, it's cheaper to
buy new than to have your old ones re-chromed, but old ones may be the
only source some day.
