Chris,

I too have noticed that original cars, no matter how well kept up always get
placed lower then even a mediocher restoration job. One of the pities is that
these cars contain the information that people need to restore the cars that
were not cared for or were abused. This treatment encourages the owners to
restore these cars. Some of the parts will be a little different and some parts
will be placed in a slightly different location and one more source of which
parts really went where will be lost.

Maybe original cars should no longer be entered into Concourse events. Maybe
they should be desplayed in a special class - of what the restorations are
trying to imitate - Originality. How about an originality class for unrestored
cars in which completely original cars all recieve gold medels.

Of course now my poor 3 couldn't have competed even when I got her. A Corvette
white paint covering her original red, black engine bay and boot. Glass fibre
over rust holes. Pre-TS60000 bonnet on TS75519, holes cut in rear seat back
where a previous owner had placed a pair of speakers. Holes in the seat
cushions where broken springs stuck through to poke driver and riders alike. An
old aftermarket steering wheel that looked like it should have been tossed years
ago. Pounds lighter than she originally was because of many missing parts.

Nope she could not have passed of original. When I'm finished she will not be
competitive in concourse ether.. Oh well, Maybe I'll just have to drive her
