re: garage heaters...
when I purchased my current garage(with unattached house) it came
with a Dayton gas(natural gas) heater hanging from the ceiling in
the corner...it also has a wall mounted thermostat. I really like
this setup. I keep it set at 45-50deg F and go in 10 minutes before
I am ready to work and crank it up. It will easily heat the garage to
65deg F when it is -20F outside.
The garage has wall, ceiling and attic insulation. I have used
kerosene heaters (unvented) which work but are awful.
Grainger(industrial supply) and other industrial suppliers sell
these heaters. IMHO they are easily worth the money (I think around
$4-600)
