Will sandblasting pistons and cranks to clean them mess them up?? Just
kidding. But seriously, I want to clean and remove the paint down to bare
metal on the following: front and rear engine plates, rocker cover, oil
pan, block EXTERIOR only, and timing cover. What is the best way to do this.
I thought about sandblasting but will this score the surface so the joint faces
will not seal correctly?? I will, of course, paint these parts after cleaning
(and sandblasting?) so what is the best paint to use?? I want something
very tough, durable, and solvent resistant. Will epoxy paint work?
Will the paint cover the surface scores sandblasting might create?

These are on on the 1500.

I just got some parts from Triumph Tune in UK: two new OE A arms ($79 a peice)
and can sell my old ones to Apple for $20 a peice, camshaft (its front TT,
but is ground by Kent cams) @ $80 and has been phosphate or tufride harded
on the lobes, vernier adjustable duplex timing gear, thermostatically
controlled oil cooler adaptor (goes between oil filter and block, you
connect hoses to this), and some misc stuff.

I just picked up a windsheild (already in the frame so you just
bolt the whole thing to the Midget body) for $75. So I had a good weekend.
Oh and not to forget, I found a place here in Phoenix who can get stuff from
Triumph Tune and you do not pay extra for shipping. The guy I spoke to said
that the prices are the same as in the catalogue, and said what, you just
take the price in pounds, convert it to $$ and thats the price we pay?? He
said pretty much. he calls them for prices. So I'm gonna go down with a
big long list of parts I want to see if thats the case. Somehow I think TT
have different prices for parts exported to US, I know Moss prices over here
are usually alot more than the same thing in UK.

Cheers Dennis
