Dennis,

congratulations, you have found the hidden Major Design Flaw in your Midget.
(well, apart from that stinking Triumph motor ;-).

having done this particular job 2 or 3 too many times, i'll give you
the short answer: you don't. you throw the whole mess away and buy new
stuff. the bushings in the wishbones (A-arms) are toast, and that's part
of the reason you can't get the fulcrum pin out.

if you insist on actually separating the things (as i usually do, even
though i know better), the first impossible task is to remove the little
flat-sided tapered pin (i forget its name) that secures the fulcrum
pin to the kingpin. the second, even more impossible task is to get the
fulcrum pin free of the kingpin (don't worry, you can't). after you've
done these 2 impossible things, take the fulcum pin out of the
kingpin/wishbone assembly, and throw the whole lot away. you can't
replace the bushings in the wishbone, and the fulcrum pin will likely be
useless. you may be able to reuse the kingpin. buy new pieces and put
them in. save yourself.

good luck. keep the new bits well greased and clean, and pray you never have
to do it again.

i'll be away for a couple weeks, so see you all next year.

merry new mas and happy x-year.
hans
