What sort of cylinder bore flexing would go on in a 1500 Spit overbored by
40 thou?? 1500 motors used for racing often have this overbore and I
wonder what is their longevity??
Vizard suggests you can overbore some of the A series by 40 thou and as
much as 60 thou on some, however, these engines suffer from collapsed bores
at low miles depending on how the motor was driven. This is not reported in
Vizards book as it takes time to do say 40 or 50K miles and the book was
written before his real high performance motors were driven this sort of
distance. Anyway, he probably rebuilds them way before they have done
anything past 20K miles (development engines that is).
Whilst I here, has anyone added the evacupan set up to their motor, does it
stand up to the claims??
Cheers Dennis
