Apparently the proper term for this is a "rollover jig".  The
current issue of British Car magazine (the one with the two
Healeys on the cover) shows a homemade one being used to work
on the underside of what became a 98-point Bugeye.

I recommend this magazine.  The typography bites, and it's not
very technical, but it's a lot of fun.
