The fact that you have very worn throttle shafts could be a major
source of your problem. That will cause the mixture to lean
out..which is exactly what you do not want on cold start up in the
morning. Even after you let your car sit all day, it is not nearly
as cold as in the morning.
Once the car is at all warm, a slightly lean mixture will let the
car run fine, engines seem to love lean mixtures right up to the
point where you burn a valve or piston.
I would suggest replacing your throttle shafts and/or having your
carbs bushed.
