A couple of years ago Thomas A. Boggiano compiled an extensive list of
British car parts suppliers which, I believe, is available on hoosier
via ftp. I think a similar list of suppliers to avoid would be just as
useful. Boggiano's list contains comments about many of the suppliers,
some of which are very negative, but these comments may only reflect the
bad experience of one disgruntled customer. What I'm thinking of is a
general consensus list of suppliers to avoid. Triumph Specialty would
be a prime candidate for this list. Perhaps such a list could also
contain a items to avoid from certain suppliers. When I needed new
gaiters for my steering rack I had read and heard enough negative
comments about the quality of Moss' gaiters to find another supplier.
On the otherhand I've bought other items from Moss that I've been
satisfied with. Anyone willing to take this task on? Unfortunately
I don't have the time, plus my dealings with these suppliers is very
limited.
