Well the GT6 was all ready to go (I forgot to mention I stuck some new tires
on it too). Packed the cooler and hurried my wife out to the car as we were
supposed to meet Daren & friends by nine. Got on the road at 8:40. Hwy 9 was
clear, no tourists yet which made for a fast ride over the hill. It handled
excellent with the new skins and no more wobble. Got from Boulder Creek to
breakfast in about 40 min. Got our fill of eggs and coffee. Gawked at Jeff
Wientraubs sparkling sprite for a bit and we were off. Wheelin' dealin' Daren
started off before us towing the MGB for sale. The ride up was uneventful
except for the group of MG's I stopped for on 280. Someone had gotten all new
tires and figured they didn't need a spare. Of course Murphy's law was in
force that day. Continued on since I was of no help.

Passed some more MG's and two TR7's down Page Mill road. I passed up the turn
off since this was my 1st time there and started passing the huge line of
overheating LBC's. Turned off for Stanford mall and was pissed cause I missed
the right turn off. However, I spied Daren's friend Mike in line in Redcar.
Backed up and he let me jump in front of him. This put me about 10 cars from
the entrance. Kind of felt bad 'cause I cut in front of everybody. Just from
the short wait I had, my temp was almost in the red. The person at the front
directed me to the wrong side and I ended up with all the MG's and AH's. Hmmm,
where's all the TR's. Walked around for a bit and found out where to go, snaked
my way to the other field and parked with the rest of the TR's. Looked around
a bit, only one other GT6 there. Although it was baking outside, I had a great
time. Lots of cars to see. It was really nice to have it on a field instead of
a parking lot. Walked around for about an hour and a half and found Daren
making his sales pitch. Then went and got a cold one. Found Dick and his
wife, talked with them and then some other people looking at the GT6. Bought a
couple of little goodies like a new gear shift knob and a GT6 pin. By the
middle of the afternoon, the sun was wearing on us and we were out of drinks,
however Wayne (from TR only) was trying to lighten his cooler and had about a
case of beer (thanks Wayne). Pounded a couple of those down while talking to
Rochelle Nyquist. Then sat in the shade of our car and finished my last brew.
By this time I was the next to last TR on the field. It was over. I had a
ball and I'm looking forward to next year already.
