I used "tire black" on some tires once and it made the tires
look plastic. I didn't like the effect. There is a product that
I think is called "Black Beauty". It is a clear container with a
clear liquid with the viscosity of syrup. It is basically just
silicon oil. I tried this and it seemed to last roughly 2 months.
One of my chemist friends suggested I use black shoe polish and
buff it. I wonder if one could use a polishing compound and just
remove the oxidation? Good luck....
