------------------------------------------------------------------
I dropped the engine and gearbox back into the midget last Sunday.
Only two problems: one of the oil pump bolts snapped while tightening,
luckily it broke off about the hole so I could get it out. Second: I
found out that some 1500 midgets do not have an oil seal between the
gearbox and bellhousing. It only took about 30 minutes to drop it in
and get the motormounts tightened down.
I got the rest of the stuff back in yesterday and killed the battery
priming the fuel pump, no manual lever on this one.
Now, I need to set the static timing and hopefully she'll start for
me this weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I also decided to paint the brake calipers a real bright red. Thanks
to whoever commented about it. Someone mentioned that it might be besst
to not paint them since paint would hurt heat dissapation. I figured
the rotor would take most of the heat. From my experience with brake
stuff this seems to be the case. Shocks got painted brown too. New
trunnion bushings, rotors and pads and tie rod ends, should make it feel
alot better around corners.

P.S. - Is there an easier way to fill the radiator on a 1500 than
filling through the screw cap on the thermostat elbow ?
