Well, we started a fresh (SAAB 2-stroke) engine breifly last night in Steve's
Jabro MKI, then promptly tore off the street muffler (Thrush side pipe)
to figure out how to fix a cracked flex-pipe, and attach the original
straight pipe. The Thrush came on the car, and was run last season. It
is said that people used to applaud when the car was shut off, as heavily
ported 2 strokes can be LOUD. (I think I'm taking my ear protector head
sets along.) Then more work on installing the new fuel cell, wiring, and
various other bits. Actual testing of a new drive shaft carrier bearing
fabrication as part of the new MG TC gearbox installation may have
to wait for the track. It ought to be an, er, interesting weekend up
to Shannville, Ont. We'll be taking the old engine too, just in case...
And, just in case we didn't have enough going on before departing Thrusday,
my Peerless should be arriving today or tomorrow!
