Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I announce my vacation, the clutch
in Grizabella decides to pack it up (do LBCs have a jealousy sensor
which causes them to do bad things when they sense their owners are
about to do something which is more FUN(?) than driving LBCs?)
Over the past few weeks, if the clutch was depressed for any long
period of time, especially with the tranny in 1st or reverse, it
would eventually begin to grab.
Yesterday, I couldn't get it into reverse without grinding, first
took some effort, but no grinding. This morning I decided to
bleed the clutch figuring that this may be the problem.
No such luck. The outsides of the master and slave cylinders
are dry, so there are no external leaks. The fluid that came
out was dirty when I bled the system.
I guess that I will be spending some post-vacation time
repairing the clutch system. My questions are:
1. Could this be a problem other than with the hydraulics?
2. Should I replace both the master and the slave cylinders
at the same time?
3. Does any one sell rebuild kits, and are they worth the
hassle (rebuilding and possible lack of success) of
rebuilding?
4. Is it more likely that the slave is dead as opposed to the
master? (see #2 above).
Anyway, sorry for being so long winded. If you have any help,
suggestions, ideas, free parts, etc. I'd like to hear it.

P.S. I am going to be temporarily taken off the list while on vacation,
so if possible reply directly to me. Thanks again.
