Wilwood brake fluid takes off Imron very nicely too. I painted my engine
compartment in Imron this winter and it looks I will be doing some repainting
in the area of the master cylinder... oh well.

1430 Mini conversions are pretty common and pretty reliable. It is critical
to use a machine shop which is familiar with this conversion as it can leave
the spacing betwenn the pistons pretty thin.

A friend of mine has a 1430 which is quite nice and seems reliable. A
1380 is even more reliable. better bore spacing. stroker cranks are not
that expensive. If you have an america crank, one could have it offset
ground and gas nitrided for about $200-250.

I resisted the temptation to put a stroker in my vintage car and decided to
stay with a legal .020 over 1275 or 1293 and standard stroke.

BTW, Cars and Car Conversions this month has a test of eight race minis,
including a couple with KAD 16 valve heads. the hottest five port
was a japanese construction by narita with titanium rods, billet crank etc
and allegedly put out 150hp and 9700 rpm... oh yes it also used a narita
5sp gearbox.

I am sure if you called narita he could sell you some titanium rods for your
upcoming rebuild for only a few million yen...
