I did a bit of reading and spoke with the owner of the Jensen GT that I saw
for sale. Apparently there were 356 Jensen GT's built - all of which came
to North America. 300 are 1975 and 56 are 1976. Of the 1976's - 6 were sold
in Canada by a place in Vancouver. This is one of them.
The owner of this car is quite friendly, and an LBC lover. He has a Riley
(which he restored 10 years ago), and he just traded his XJ12S for a series
3 V12 E-type. He doesn't use the Jensen and wants to sell it to someone
who will appreciate it (says he doesn't need the money). He bought it 2
years ago for $7k (cdn) - but he says he'll sell it for $5k (cdn).
The car appears to be in excellent condition (I just saw it parked though - I
haven't been in it or under it). The car has power windows, AC etc and a 5-spd
getrag (sp?) gearbox.
The only other GT that the fellow says he knows of that has been sold recently
was in Toronto, and it sold for $11,500k (cdn) - which he felt was excessive.
Hmmmm. It's interesting - and sounds like it might be a good deal - but I've
got to replenish the car-fund before I buy another one.
