Sorry to send this to the entire list but I've tried every incarnation of
return addresses I can think of with no luck so this seems to be my only
choice.
Randy,
Thanks for the info. Everyone I've talked to is saying the cam must be Ok or
things would be much worse (no power. torque, etc.) so I'm starting to
feel a little better.
As far as I know, most stuff on this car is still stock. The distributor has
the vaccuum line coming out the "back" and running next to the distributor.
The auto choke is still there (CA likes that sort of thing), etc. I've
had everything apart numerous times and haven't found any obvious problems.
The only thing I can think of is that something in the carb is worn and it
wasn't obvious with the old worn camshaft. The stock needle doesn't look
too bad but what about the seat it goes into? I don't think you can replace
these, can you? I'll have to take another look at these things tonight
or over the weekend
Oh, I have an electric fuel pump (with a regulator) - I'm pretty sure the
pressure is OK.
thanks for your help,
Rich Hill
once again, sorry to post to the entire list.
