The trunion on the Spitfire came off in about an hour. Nothing I wanted
to undo was siezed and nothing sheared or anything else that we have
all come to expect.

The wear seemed to be in the bushings that fit inside the horizontal
hole. The thread seemed a little worn as well. The garage can do the
welding on Friday and then the MOT certificate is mine all mine !!

Phil Ethier : the text that I got some of the J-H info was from a
'A to Z' of every car sold in the UK from 1945 to 1980. Under the
Jensen Healey it reads :

Jensen-Healey

1972-76 (prod : 10926 including GTs)
2 door, 2 seater convertible. F/R, 1973 cc (S4 DOC)

Kjell Qvale's 'dash for growth', killed by the energy crisis, inflation
and anodyne styling. Qvale bought Jensen, installed the Healey family as
designers, and a new unit-construction car was the result. Lotus 16 valve
140 bhp engine, Chrysler transmission (Getrag from end 74), and Vauxhall
Viva suspension. Its 120 MPH and 25 mpg attractive to many.

The Viva suspension surprised me as well !!

As from this weekend I will have a garage to play in. Along with a new
house and my girlfriend's sister's Morris traveller as a second car !

        TTFN,
