Before you get out the cash and do the mods, please please do the following
(if you don't, you will do what i did with a 1500, waist time and money and
loose drivibility as well as power).

1) Do your homework on what will work well, ie what are the tried and trusted
COMBINATION of parts you need. You do not want a race car because it will be
undrivable at anything below about 2 or 3000 revs.

2) Know what additional machining work must be done to help the high perf bits
you have. eg it is pointless porting the head and expanding the port
diameter if the restriction is at the valves. And if you increase compression
will your standard valves be able to take the extra heat etc etc.

Oselli in the UK make fast B series engines eg, 1995cc fast road
124BHP @ 5720 rpm or Rally 138 BHP @6000 rpm.

Mech Spec in UK will build your engine to any specs eg VERY QUICK (no
data on HP) will cost about $1500.

My advise is see what has been done and what works, ignor anything
which says "bolt on more power" "High performance" until you know they will
work in the combination of all your parts.

I can give the addresses of several places in UK and one in the states
which have built fast engines. They should give the specs and parts used which
work. Oselli engineering and Aldon in the UK KNOW what they are doing.

eg the engines they build will have a distributor with the CORRECT
advance curve for your set up, the mallory one will NOT, I will bet $$$ on it.

I must admit I would be alittle peeved if I got burned by a Miata, but
I'm driving a car with 10000000000 times the character, and one which has
REAL chrome, and a classic look. I wonder how many miatas will be around in
20 years time with the following our LBC have???

Cheers DW.

I think my chrome bumper B GT is pretty fast and acts like its glued to the
road!!! Exit
