**** Well, I once did something similar. Back in my college days, I bought a
SAAB 96 for $125.00. As you might guess from the price, *EVERYTHING* was wrong
with it.  For example, the clutch was slipping badly, and THREE OF THE BRAKES
didn't work.  That is, the hydraulic brake system only worked on one wheel. 
Oh, yes, and the handbrake cable was frozen.  I DROVE THAT CAR HOME OVER SOME
OF THE STEEPEST HILLS IN SAN FRANCISCO.  Dumb, dumb dumb.  What can I say, I
was young and stupid. And poor.
