steering problem -- found

My steering problem turned out to be of the simplest sort.  The wheel
isn't turning the column properly.  Once I get a moment or two of
time, I need to pull it and see which set of splines is stripped. 
(Taking a look through the Moss catalog, I don't like either
possibility although the steering wheel is at least listed as
available in the price sheet.)
