No the JPS was just the lotus europa jps. My cousin bought it, and
one morning he started it up... Unfortunately, the mechanical fuel pump
(which leaked a little :( ), is mounted above the starter motor.
The car torched from the doors back. We traded him an old Posrche for it,
and my brother built a new back end from fiberglass. It ended up having
a Ferrari "looking" rear, it was a lot of fun, but we lost interest in it.
I've decided that if I'm going to own a car that is a fair amount of effort
to keep, it might as well be a convertible too...

I noticed in the August Hemming News that someone was selling a Turbo
Esprit with the same type of "fire treated" rear end; has Lotus figured out
what the problem is? I carried a 20 LB CO2 fire ext. with me, but never
used in on my own car. However, I did save a 66 MGB from a horrible death.
The owners were just watching it burn when I pulled up and put it out.
Yah know, they promised to pay for the refill of the CO2, but never did;
is there such a thing as a "fireman's lien?"
