I have a '75 Spitfire. The gearbox is in pretty good shape, at
least the synchros seem much less worn than on other Spitfires I've
driven, and I'd like to keep it that way. I know that Red-Line
MTL (manual transmission lubricant), a synthetic gearbox lube,
worked well on a friend's car and was wondering if there'd be any
problem replacing the current gearbox lube (which needs changing
anyway) with the correct grade of Red-Line - and if anyone has any
experiences, positive or negative, with this stuff.
