Yes, the US Army (and some of the Australian Military - airforce, I think)
bought some Mokes, but not in very large amounts (mainly because of it wasn't
4WD and is limited in its carrying capacity). The "Twinnie Moke" was a twin-
engine version with even less carrying space and several prototypes were tested
by the US Army.
There was a recent Australian TV show which had a Californian Moke on it (for
about 5 seconds...) There was also a send-up of a James Bond movie starring
Sammy Davis Jr. which had a aqautic Moke... (I haven't seen it yet, and I can't
remember what it was called).
