Uh, bob, not according to the factory. 69-71 had a few horsepower less than
the 72 and later, mainly due to 72 getting dual exhausts, better intake
manifold, and a better cam. They did have to drop from 8.5 to 7.75 to 1
compression, though. The results were that they got a few more horsepower,
and perhaps lost a little torque in the midrange. The 21 HP advantage did
exist in England, where the 69-71 TR6 PI (petrol injection) had ~150 hp, and
the 72-on PI had ~125 hp. US hp was about 104 for 69-71, and a few higher
(108? 110?) for 72-on.
