If my overloaded and fuzzy memory serves me right, I seem to remember
reading in some vintage car magazine that Alfa had produced a 5.0L V-8 DOHC
engine for either FIA of Can-Am in the mid-sixties. (maybe a GT40 fighter??)
It was installed in a Lola T-70 coupe. It wasn't very sucessful and didn't
last very long. (There seemed to be some other V-8 that was popular in Can-Am
at the time) I'll try to dig out the article, but I think I threw it away.
...I do remember that the magizine had a Morgan Trike on the front and a
story about the Morgan SLR inside.
Ob Brit: Does anyone know how strict vintage racing people are on
having proper engines? (VSCCA in particular) I found nice MGA I'd like to
buy and race, but it's got a 5 main engine from a 'B in it.
