I have been quietly following the discussion of TR's, etc for about two
weeks since I asked that my name be added to the british-cars mailing list.

Having previously owned an MG A, TR GT-6, TR Spitfire and assorted other cars
for reliable transportation, I currently have a 1960 AH Sprite. I am the
second owner of the car. It was originally purchased by an Air Force officer
who returned from an assignment in the UK (he traded his RHD Frogeye for it)
and kept in the same garage for his usage for 22 years! Unfortunately, he
replaced the original engine with a later AH Sprite engine -- the original
engine had a supercharger so I understand why he replaced it and why he
replaced it with a larger engine. Fortunately, I have an original engine
(from a parts car I had to abandon when I moved from Chicago to Philadelphia
two years ago).

Unfortunately, my job (chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer
Science at Drexel University in Philadelphia) keeps me too busy to do a
few things now needed to return the car to the road. This winter I plan to
clean the garage (alas) and finish the repairs.

Does anyone know if there are active British automobile groups in the
Philadelphia area? (I am usually able to find groups since I work as an
official at IMSA endurance races, but, since I have not worked many races
this year and since IMSA has abandoned Pocono for many, many years, I have
not found anyone interested in AH's, etc.) Is there anyone else on this
mailing list who is in the Philadelphia area?
