As to a 74 Europa, I doubt that test limits are very demanding as that was the 1st year of controls on cars. ACTUALLY, CONSIDERABLE EMMISSIONS CONTROL REGULATIONS STARTED IN THE USA ON JANUARY 1, I968. THERE WAS PCV BEFORE THAT, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE BIG DEAL THAT THE FEDERAL LAWS IN '68 WERE. 1973 BROUGHT A BIG STEP UP IN EMISSIONS REGULATION, AND MOST MANUFACTURERS, ESP DOMESTIC, WERE NOT VERY GOOD AT MEETING THEM. 1973 CARS GENERALLY RAN LIKE GARBAGE. phile@pwcs.stpaul.gov |
