In our continuing search for an A-H BJ8, we went to visit a local
Healey restoration shop here in Vancouver. It is called ...

           The Healey Den
           rear 1162 Seymour St.
           Vancouver, BC
           [604] 682-7882

and we talked to Rick Regan who I believe is the owner. They had
about 10 Healeys in various states of restoration. Of interest was a
rusted out but complete 100M, a 3000 in the process of complete
restoration which had the engine, wiring and brakes in but no fenders,
interior, etc. on it yet, and a severly rusted 3000 that was being put
back together. This last car contained a lot of reproduction sheet
metal that had been mig-welded in. Looks like you really can build a
3000 from the frame up (as Scott Fisher said)! Rick said that most
parts are readily available, with the exception of a few things such as
brake master cylinder rebuild kits that are in erratic supply.

The owner of the 3000 I mentioned in my previous message wants about
$18,500 Canadian for his. This doesn't seem like such a bad price now
that we have had a look around.

If anybody sees anything for sale locally I would appreciate if they would
email me. If nothing else, it is nice to get a feel for prices.

And finally, thanks to all the people who responded to my request for
3000 info (Mike Tobin, Robb Pryor, and Scott Fisher). We have looked
at Hemmings (prices high) and are going to the local Austin-Healey club
meeting on June 13.

Any more advice?

Thanks again,
