Oh this is tempting if true!!!!! I hope so!! I'd go in a minute if
it's moved out a week. Heck it's only a 5 hour drive (maybe 4.25 ;-).
Mom leaves the 3rd. My sister will still be here but it's not the
same! I'll have to find that entry form. If it's the June 9-10 I
will be in Idaho.

As for event sizes.... (You're hearing this from a rookie so I could
be wrong)

In the 1st event of the year there were 75 people that competed. It
may have been more but I think this is the number that could recieve
points. The 2nd event results haven't come in yet so I do know the
exact number. It was rainy and cold, I think the turnout was lower.

Format has gone like so the first 2 events:

There's a morning group & and afternoon group. Morning consist of
Stock, PAX & novice classes. Afternoon is Street Prepared, Prepared &
Modified. I think we have a vintage class too (like I said I'm a
rookie). The next event the 2 groups will trade time of day which is
great for me (so I can sleep late ;-).

Each group divides into two subgroups. So far it has been AS - DS &
novices as one subgroup and the rest in the 2nd subgroup. We flip a
coin as to who goes first with the coin toss winner picking "work or
drive". (I could never figure why anyone would want to drive first.)
The basic idea is half work & half drive.

The course gets split into 3 sections, each having it's own radio.
Typically 3 people to a section. There is a starter and some pre-grid
workers too. In the timing area, 2 people I think work the timing. 1
person handles communication to the course for acknowledgement of all
conedeaths. There is a person who posts the time sheets on the board
and also announcer. You have to sign in what your work assignment is
to get points. I've worked out on the course which is fun. I've also
worked as the timing poster which is the pits. Too many analyticals
complaining about the way I was posting the slips. Heck the timing
area is *suppose* to be off limits. Joee makes a great announcer. He
has that radio kinda voice ;-).

Afternoon is the same basically. I don't know how they split the two.
Something like DSP & modifieds vs. the rest (I'm guessing here).
Morning group doesn't have to work the afternoon group. There is also
a dedicated small group who goes out on course at lunch time and
sweeps it. I did it the first event and didn't the 2nd. I felt a
little guilty about it too. I'll be out there sweeping this weekend.

Note we also have a raffle for all those who donate a can of food.
Some of the prizes are pretty good from fun runs to oil to race
videos.
