Westfield purchased (stole?) the original Lotus bucks that provide
the body shape. So what you have is a complete Lotus 11 (if done
properly, at least in body) that was originally sold by Westfield
in kit form. I understand Westfield has a two year waiting list
on these things! I've seen MG Midget engines in them, MGB engines,
and even Ford engines (4cyl) of various types. In So. Cal. I've
seen them up for sale for between $7000 and $12000.
The quality of Westfield you have there will depend upon the builder's
abilities, and choice of parts. I understand Peter Egan of Road and
Track, and Cycle World built one, wrote about it, and sold it. It
sounded like serious good fun. I'd love to have one some day. But
for the price that these seem to be trading for, a '77 or '78 Lotus
Esprit can be had in good condition...
