Had to remove the upper portion of the dash to get a good chance at removing
the existing connections. I will try to remove them tomorrow. There was not
enough room to get two wrenches from under the dash to remove the
connection. I would like to find the fittings to move this connection
outside the firewall. This busting right above your feet could be real
interesting, plus having to remove the dash for this is not hard, but a
little more than I wanted to get into. Now I have the gap in the air box,
air gaps in the firewall and rust to deal with. My middle vents were two
pieces of white card board, I wonder if this was original. I also noticed a
date stamp on my dash that is later than my VIN plate. Could have been one
of those parts the car was waiting on to be finished.. I have purchased the
actual middle vent ducts from Rich Hayes today off Ebay and will replace the
card board. I have some aluminum tape and foam backed aluminum tape for the
gap in the air box. the passenger side vent hose was not connected. So
hopefully getting all these taken car of will give me a little break from
major work. It was the last thing that I has not taken apart in the
interior. I also need to put electrical tape over the center dash support
since this is near the fuseable link with the ammeter and could cause a nice
arc if it touches it.
While I am in this area is there something else that I need to take care of
that I missed listing?
