KYB Shocks and hood closure

I had replaced my shocks with the KYB's that were recommended.  Now that I
have replace the broken hood latch it appears the top of the shock is
interfering with the closing of the hood and engaging the locks.  I looked at
the original shock and the top is much smaller than the KYB.  Has anyone else
had this problem?
