Replacing Carpet

I am getting ready to replace the carpet.  I found a heat shield material that
will not absorb water (required for a Bricklin I guess).  I also found some
marine carpet at Lowe's that looks like it will work out.

I read on the forum about using gloves and long sleeves due to the fiberglass.
Any other suggestions or experiences will be appreciated.
