Freeze out plugs.... I Hope

Does anyone have any advice about replacing freeze out plugs?

What to expect.... what NOT to do?

The SIZE?

I am having my father come up to help actually (DO IT).  This is over my head.
I want to be as prepared as I can be for when he gets here.  I am not 100%
sure it is the plugs... I just hope I did not crack the block.

Any help would be appreciated.
