Cooling system flush kits can help clean some of the junk out of your cooling
system. I haven't tried using one when the radiator is out. It would probably
be best to use that when you put it back in.
You could pull the freeze plugs out and clean out the block with a screwdriver
or coathanger. You would be amazed how much crud builds up in there and it
hurts cooling efficiency. It isn't easy to get at some of the plugs though.
