Restoring any car can get expensive if you hire the work done. If you are not
mechanically inclined, you are best off spending the extra money to get a
Bricklin which is in excellent condition.
Bricklins are 26-28 years old now and were not the most reliable cars around
even when new. Be prepared to take it in for repair regularly and make sure
you have a mechanic who likes working on classic cars. Some just won't be
bothered working on cars where it can take some time and effort to locate
parts and which are not familiar to them.
I so all my own work, but I am sure there must be other members on this list
who have their Bricklin maintained by a mechanic. As long as you don't need
it as a daily driver and can afford to have repairs done, there is no reason
not to get a Bricklin. I think the fun of driving one is well worth the
effort and expense.
