alan,
i don't know too much about this but i have interchanged oil sending
units between cars, between cars and motorcycles and between gas and
diesels. i think that they are pretty generic but i think that there is
a difference between the ones that operate the guages and the idiot
lights. if the threads match and you get a reading, it is probably ok.
i once put one that i had for a bmw motorcycle in a volkswagen diesel
and it worked fine. on the other hand, i don't remember that that
engine lasted too long. maybe want to get other opinions before you
rely on the information provided by the sending unit.
in this case, you may be getting what you pay for. good luck.
