74 engine paint

Does anyone know if the bracket that mounts to the engine and holds the a/c 
compressor (I know that the compressor was not!) was originally painted or 
not?? When I pulled it off, I found amc blue paint in a couple of areas, but 
I can't tell if it came off the block or was painted on the bracket.
