I have to agree with Rick (High Tech Coatings).
"This sounds like the IGN section of your switch is bad or has a bad
connection." If Rick isn't correct about it being the ign. switch,
besure to check the connectors. There are 2 on the ign. switch.
If too much current has been drawn, the connectors can melt, or the
connectors can get messed up.
The wire colors on the Bricklin are:
1. LG Red - Main power to the ign switch
2. Pr (purple) - Pwr to Fuse block for Guages, Rear window defroster,
Heater & A/C fuses
3. Pk (Pink) - To Starter circuits
4. Br (Brown) - Accessories Power - to Fuse block buss for wipers
and radio.
5. 2Br - off the 2nd connector - used for the brake indicator
light and the brake failure switch.
